BIDAR


Bidar town, the district headquarters, lies at the farthest north-eastern corner of Karnataka. It is situated at elevation of more that 660 mts. above sea level, almost 700 km from Bangalore  134 km from Hyderabad and 200 km from Nander(Sach khand Shri Hazoor Sahib). Town is well connected by road and rail. 

The present population of town is about 1,30,000 and it enjoys a picturesque situation with pleasant climate. Having been built on the brink of a plateau it commands lovely views of the lands towards the north-east. 

It has been an important center of learning from the time immemorial and has several educational institutions in the area of Science & engineering, Arts, Commerce, Law, Pharmacy, Education & Veterinary Science. Air force training center is yet another important institution in the town. 

Bidar forms the trijunction of the three states of the Deccan i.e., Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Around this town there are several perennial springs closely linked with various religions. 

For its religious & historical importance the Bidar town is easily recognized on the map of the country.
